On this page you can enable or disable the feature IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) on the router netis WF2419 and WF2501.

 

IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol – Internet Group Management Protocol) – Group Management Protocol (multicast) data transmission in networks based on the IP protocol. IGMP is used by routers and IP-hosts for the organization of the network devices in the group.

This protocol is part of the specification of multicast packets in IP-based networks. IGMP is the network layer. IGMP can be used to support streaming video and online games, for these types of applications, it allows you to use network resources more efficiently. IGMP is vulnerable to some attacks, and firewalls typically allow the user to disable this protocol if it is not needed.

IGMP is used only in IPv4 networks, as the IPv6 multicast packet is implemented via the Multicast Listener Discovery protocol.

  • Status – Pressing the Enable or Disable. This feature is disabled by default.

Click Save, to save the changes.
