Select the tab «Wireless» – sub-tab «Wireless Security» on the left side.

Set the desired values of the wireless mode.

Disabling wireless security mode on the router Tp-link, the protection range of encryption, installation and change the password.

You can select one of the following security options:

  • Disable Security – The function of wireless security can be enabled or disabled. If it is disabled, wireless stations can connect to the router without encryption. It is strongly recommended that you choose one of the options listed below to protect your wireless network.
  • WPA / WPA2 – Personal – Select protection based on WPA Shared Key.
  • WPA / WPA2 – Enterprise – Select WPA based protection through a Radius-server.
  • WEP – Select protection 802.11 WEP.

Each option has its own protection settings, which are presented below:

WPA / WPA2 – Personal

Version – You can select one of the following versions:

  • Automatic – Automatically selects one of the authentication options: WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK, depending on the capabilities and the wireless station request.
  • WPA-PSK – Password PSK (Shared Key) WPA.
  • WPA2-PSK – Password PSK (shared key) WPA2.

Encryption  – Select Automatic, TKIP or AES.

Wireless Password – You can enter the ASCII characters or hexadecimal format. The length should be between 8 and 64 characters if you select HEX format, and from 8 to 63 characters in the case of ASCII format selection.

Group Key Update Perion – Set the update interval in seconds key groups. The value must be equal to “0” or “30” or higher. Enter “0” to disable the update.

WPA / WPA2 – Enterprise

Version – You can select one of the following versions,

  • Automatically  – automatically selects one of the options WPA or WPA2, depending on the capabilities and the wireless station request.
  • WPA – Protected Access Wi-Fi.
  • WPA2 – WPA version 2.

Encryption  – You can choose either Auto, or TKIP or AES.

Radius Server IP – Enter the IP-address of the Radius-server.

Radius Port – Enter the port that will be used by radius-server.

Radius Password – Enter the password for Radius-server.

Group Key Update Perion – Set the update interval in seconds key groups. The value must be equal to “0” or “30” or higher. Enter “0” to disable the update.

WEP

Type  – You can select one of the following types

  • Automatic – automatically selects one of the authentication options: Shared Key or Open System, depending on the capabilities and the wireless station request.
  • Shared Key – Used authentication based on a common key 802.11.
  • Open System – Use authentication based on 802.11 open system.

WEB Key Format – You can select ASCII or hexadecimal format. ASCII format suitable for any combination of keyboard symbols within a given length. The hexadecimal format is suitable for any combination of hexadecimal characters (0-9, a-f, A-F) within a predetermined length.

WEP key settings – Select which of the four keys will be used, and enter the appropriate WEP key information for your network in the selected key radio button opposite. These values must be the same for all wireless stations in your network.

Key Type – You can select the WEP key length (64-bit, 128-bit or 152-bit.) for encryption. “Disabled” means that the input is not possible WEP key.

For 64-bit encryption – You can enter 10 hexadecimal digits (any combination of 0-9, a-f, A-F, zero key is not valid) or 5 ASCII characters.
For 128-bit encryption – You can enter 26 hexadecimal digits (any combination of 0-9, a-f, A-F, zero key is not valid) or 13 ASCII characters.

Note: If you do not set the key, the wireless security function will be disabled, even if you have selected as the authentication type common key.

Click Save  to save the settings on this page.
